Interested scholars/academics who are working as faculty members/researchers in Universities/Institutes are encouraged to send a request mentioning the time they want to spend at NCDS, a brief work plan on what they intend to do and CV. The request should be sent to Director, NCDS (director.ncds@gov.in). NCDS will process the same on receiving the request.

A visiting Scholar/Fellow/Professor is required to deliver a seminar, give lectures to students (if mutually convenient), contribute to working paper series of NCDS, and participate in other academic activities at NCDS. A visiting Scholar/Fellow/Professor will be provided with office space and accommodation in the guest house-cum-hostel (if rooms are available), without any charges. There will be no financial liability to NCDS (NCDS will not be paying any honorarium or reimbursing any expenses). Residents in the guest house-cum-hostel have to pay for their food, laundry and other facilities to the providers if they avail the same.

Requests from scholars/academics who are not Indian citizens will also have to be accompanied by a copy of their passport and the processing of their request may take a longer time, as it will also require clearance from Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
